What was you're first piece of bodyart, and why? This is a discussion thread · 51 replies Colin: Going by the recent postings, with someone suggesting having a topic to discuss, and lurkers de-lurking and whatnot, how about this to start the ball rolling. (It's probably a bit lame but here goes)"What was your first piece of bodyart and why?" (nb if a peircing, I'm not thinking gunned lobes) Personally it was my left nipple. I'd seen someone on holiday years about 10 years ago with peirced nips, and it stuck in my head. For some reason when it came down to it, it HAD to be the left one, there was no debating it, and I loved the look of the cbr when it was done. My nip on the other hand didn't like the cbr and it started to migrate a fair bit. Swapped for a barbell, and all was fine. I now have a matching pair years later, but I still prefer the left one. Had it for a couple of months but it didn't work out, maybe do it again some day, I miss it already, sob. Regards. Mark.(AKA, Mr.Nice.) Eightball1030: nostril piercing - did it myself about 12 yrs ago right before my GCSE's - just thought it looked cool. used a darning needle & it hurt like hell. hiding it from my parents inevitably led to it's demise.laters mark (minus nosril piercing)

Dalg (If this was a crap idea, just slag me mercilessly it'll probably relive some stress)[/nq]What? Self-done piercing through scar tissue on the underside of my ***. (I guess technically it was a very shallow lorem). Why? The scar tissue on the underside of my *** virtually had a hole through it already. 'Why not make the little chap more interesting?' I thought. It only lasted a few weeks. The scar tissue looked neater once it had migrated out, and got rid of the holey bit. BTN

Flash Wilson: [nq:2]"What was your first piece of bodyart and why?" (nb if a peircing, I'm not thinking gunned lobes)[/nq][nq:1]Left nipple too.[/nq] Right for me. I got it done because I loved my drinking partner's pierced nipple and had often thought about it myself. Didn't regret it although I did regret going to MM for it. Had it 6 years now if I remember correctly. Incidentally, I often read people saying goodbye to nipple piercings on here, what's the longest people have had them? Otter: [nq:1]"What was your first piece of bodyart and why?"[/nq]6" tattoo of diving otter on right shoulder. Design based on a sculpture and put on in about 3 sittings. Why? Because I could, because I was recently divorced and getting a new life, and because I knew, & trusted, the person doing it. Otter http://www.paganotter.org.uk

speedy2: [nq:1]. Incidentally, I often read people saying goodbye to nipple piercings on here, what's the longest people have had them? Flash Wilson - http://www.gorge.org [/nq] About 25 years! I had a PA done by Mr. Sebastian in London. I was scared silly at the time and DID have a small drink in a nearby pub beforehand to give me Dutch courage! All un-necessary, as he was calming and reassuring in a most professional way, as were his techniques for that so-long-ago time. It was done to make up for the loss of sensitivity that a circumcision at a very early ages creates, and to make married sex more enjoyable Then a couple of years later I had him pierce both nipples for me, for the same reason. Since he was one of the only two piercers at that time in Britain, and he used injected anaesthetics (another topic for much dissention!), I felt no pain, which had been something that I was utterly dreading. I had no problems with aftercare - his advice was exemplary, even back in those dim, dark times. Healing was good, though one nipple has always resented the change that I used to make from gold sprung seamless 2mm rings in the summer, to ss 2.5mm cbr's in the winter! I guess that the flesh in the one is a bit less elastic than in the other. Some little time later, I gained a frenum ring, this time self-done, with a home-sharpened 1.5mm hypo needle. It was quite and exercise, doing 4-facet sharpening under a high-powered magnifier, as was the marking, clamping and deadening with a lignocaine surface aneasthetic and a light touch from a freezing spray! Shaking of the hands isn't conducive to easy work.. In those dark days of yore, I used to post on rab, and grew very interested in Prince's Wands, collecting quite an archive on the subject, but eventually Anne (Ardvark) and Lani (L. Tashima-Millar) gave up (semi) moderating it, and anarchy rapidly set in, with a complete change from the friendly, tolerant and open nature of the group, to the very opposite, with much foul language, and unpleasantness towards newbies and their innocent questions. So I gave up even lurking on rab many years ago. I don't post much here, though I DO enjoy earwigging, as I am definitely now in the category of chronically old fogey , and am apt to get jumped on for my out-of-date ideas and comments which are likely to be misinterpreted. How the group can persuade others to join it, and to post to it, is a real problem, one for which I cannot offer any suggestion, though I hope that someone WILL come up with a bright idea!. Dave.
