What are *you* wearing today? This is a discussion thread · 90 replies ahmward: 100 degrees and day two of dental trauma. Yesterday I spent two hoursat the dentist because I had broken an ancient crown. The dentist is young and his hygienist is not very experienced so it was a dragged out appointment. Today I have the thrill of going to the periodontist for a regular cleaning. Rewards? I am going to drop off a lot of items at a thrift store after the appointment so I will probably do a bit of browsing/shopping if I can stand the heat.chocolate silk short sleeve tee beige cotton BR capris Joan & David dark brown woven leather sandals green and white Rafe handbag amber necklace and earrings, gold watch Audrey

Tom: [nq:1]100 degrees and day two of dental trauma. Yesterday I spent two hours at the dentist because I had broken ... thrift store after the appointment so I will probably do a bit of browsing/shopping if I can stand the heat.[/nq]I feel your pain in more ways than one, having just had a bunch of teeth extracted on the very same day. (Believe me, you do not want to know the details. I'm living in an odont world these days: endo, exo, peri, every- thing but ortho.) They just moved to a new office, & in the confusion of moving, they mislaid the bridge that was supposed to go in. (Life being what it is, it surfaced half an hour after I had left.) My sole consola- tions: both dentists are firstclass men (missing bridge to contrary notwithstanding) & their new receptionist is mega-cute. Intelligent too: the irresistible combination. Lucky for all concerned that I'm (a)a septuagenarian & (b) happily married. Got prescriptions for antibiotic & some kind of super pain killer. Those pain killers usually contain narcotics that do me more harm than good. So I got by on Advils, which proved adequate. Oh...what I wore: Chinos, a red turtleneck, Rockfords. The turtleneck was a prudent choice: the office air conditioning was glacial. Tom Parsons The only role models you need are bad ones. (Email Removed) > Good ones just get in the way of you

Charles Perrin: PAYDAY EVE... Started the morning by throwing out the results of the weekend's "trashcan triage" (eight bags full) and running the accumulated dishes through the dishwasher. Also called the Farm. To work via CVS and Kroger (Rx drop-off and groceries, respectively). Spent day in two meetings, reviewing stuff, and more testing in the last half of the day. To home via Kroger and CVS (groceries and two Rx, respectively). Had dinner out, grilled chicken with chili con queso and tomatoes. Did a load of laundry in the evening. Charles Perrin: THURSDAY... To work, picking up breakfast @ Kroger. It was spitting rain. More software testing, I'm down to two procedures. One of the tests will be a lot of "cut and paste" and the other needs feeding with data. More rain on the way home. Had dinner out, soup and a burrito. Computer stuff after that. Charles Perrin: FRIDAY... To work, picking up breakfast @ Kroger. More software testing, I'm down to seeding that last test with data; what I've got right now is NOT it. Spitting rain on the way home, bigger storms afterward. Had dinner in, soup and a sandwich. Watched TV (Weather Channel in the PIP corner box, either TV Land or CNN as the main picture). Charles Perrin: SATURDAY... Got up, checked my E-mail. Out for lunch (tortilla soup and a burrito). Overcast outside and in the lower 80s; depending on who you check, the chance of rain is 30% (Weather Channel) to 60% (NWS). Last weekend's "trashcan triage" was so successful I think I'm going to do a repeat session as soon as the lunch settles, and I've got a few days of accumulated Quicken to do first. Charles Perrin: SUNDAY... Got up, checked my E-mail, started off the week with a fresh shower. Out for lunch (tortilla soup and a burrito). It rained last night, so it's like a sauna today in Houston... so I'll probably stay in and do various things. I'm hoping that today's replay of "A Prairie Home Companion" will be free of storm warning interruptions (unlike last night).
