RE: Tattoos are a fad and it will pass - then what !!! ? page 2This is a discussion thread · 20 replies heh heh heh heh. watch yourself chip - you can't go offending our girls and not expect an ass-whoopin' you can't define all tattoo art by one style. some styles and designs have been much more popular in the last couple of decades - like the tribal boom, and then the new school boom, but this is only a recent set of design ideas - tattooing has been going on for literally thousands of years have a read : tattoo history there's no way you can call tattoing a 'fad' here you go chip ... tramp stamps what's the problem? so you think i'm a 'tramp' because of my lower back tattoo? kiss my beautifully tattooed ass ... I really don't think so. May be the tattoo mode will come to an end someday, but there will still be a lot of people wearing tattoos for other reasons. Tattoos, as many other things, are another way of communication. Anonymous: tattoos are not itself a fad, but tattoos in america are indeed a fad the general public .. people argue that tattooing has been around for a thousands years true , so has yoga. ask your self this yoga is a trend in India no. But in america it is with yuppies and so forth. Anonymous: I personally think Tramp Stamps are wonderful--they tell me the woman has loose morals and is trashy even before I speak to her. I know some guys use it to determine which sexual position a woman prefers.Anonymous: It's posts like these that really make me disappointed in online communities and people in general. If you are going to make a broad patronizing comment towards what people decide to do with their bodies, at least have the decency to research what you are claiming to know (or not know). Tattoos have been around forever and while it may be more ACCEPTED now as generations change, does not make it a fad. I encourage you to really look at the meaning of the word "fad" and re-evaluate your beliefs. You have to understand that until 1997 tattoo shops were illegal and that is why they weren't as widely accepted and still aren't to older generations. As time passes and that generation fades, so will the negative attitude towards ink. Include newer ink that doesn't become as sloppy and the differentiation between a good artist and a bad one, you don't have a fad but a whole new form of expression used by not only crazies doing illegal acts of scarring their bodies, but people across all styles. The versatility and style that has developed and come to praise within our era is nothing short of amazing. Anyone saying otherwise is just biased due to misinformation or lack thereof. But all in all, you post begs the question; why come to a tattoo forum to post doubts. It looks like you are looking for people to real all you out of your beliefs. Show more
