POLL - Pain ?This is a discussion thread · 62 replies P: Leading on from the last thread, what was your most and least painful piercing / bodyart work ?Which one did you anticpate being more painful and it wasn't ? Which one surprised you with how much it hurt ? For me, nipples, esp the right horizontal was very painful. I anticipated a level of pain, and it was exceeded. By a LOOONG way. Least painful would be all my surface work. Hardly felt it. And surprised ? My PA. Expected more pain. P in need of PARS..

Right nipple was better than I expected. [nq:1]Which one surprised you with how much it hurt ?[/nq] The second piercing in one of my ears - clipped a bit of the cartilidge on the way in (by gun when I was 19). Left nipple was also excrutiatingly painful.

Which one surprised you with how much it hurt ?[/nq]most painful was my triangle, by about a million million times. ouchiee. but totally worth it least painful..not counting the PA i used xylocaine on (which i didn't even feel a thing, i didnt know he'd done it), or my self done genital piercings with xylocaine, was probably my smiley expected the dermal punch to be very bad and it wasn't, and septum, and implants..and chest piercings I always really worry about, even though I know they aren't that bad..we did a group pull at the weekend, and i showed someone how to pierce, then let him do mine. And they hardly hurt at all..though i still made my standard 'getting pierced' noises. and the double deep navel thingy i have, that hurt SO hard, even with ametop, i was expecting it to be okay once the anaesthetic was working. the first one took 4 pushes to go through and HURT. my madonna hurt too, much more than i expected, he tightened the clamps just as he was doing the piercing. it was ouchie. i can't really compare the pain of tattooing to piercing, it's just so different..the tat on my back had me in tears for the final hour of a 3 hour session, and after i finished I said I'd never do it again. but now I'm designing loads more to add to it so i guess i just forget the older stuff I've got and do it again anyway. which is good cos i am such a baby. -v-

P in need of PARS..[/nq]Most painful: 4.5 hours of black line and filling work on my calf. Holy crap did that hurt. I gritted my teeth the whole way through , and apart from the odd muscle spasm, I didn't move or speak. Least painful: either the PA or the tongue. PA was least hassle to heal up afterwards. Most suprising: Septum. I barely felt it, yet I was panicking and nervous about how much it would hurt. Barely any pain, no hassle to heal, very little watery eye syndrome. smeg Change "junk" for "smeg" when replying via email. http://www.ukbodyart.org

Most Painful: a couple of months back I got a septum piercing, it looks painful, and do you know what, it bloody was. Interesting pain: I had a lovely bloke called Wayne in Derby pierce my lip, I'd had alot of chats with him before and he knew my feelings on the importance of 'feeling' a piercing being done. So he went nice and slow. Am I a bad man for liking that  Love and lard Mannaz

Steel. It's the density of the flesh along with the quantity to get through that does it. So all in all, most navels seem to be a bit of a deception. Dnc VS800

As to tats, the only bit that was quite sore was the top of my left buttock as it neared the centre. niamh{K}.
